REIKI – A Healing Modality

REIKI – A Healing Modality

As a Reiki Master, I recently taught three clients Reiki I Certification. It is an 8 hour class that allows the student to be able to do Reiki on themselves and others.

reiki healingA Reiki practitioner does not heal. They are a conduit for the energy that goes through them to a person to help heal themselves.

Reiki is a healing modality that can help return us to a balance functioning on every level – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual regardless of age.

I have private Reiki sessions and Reiki Circles to promote this healing modality.  I have had sessions with persons with Mulitple Sclerosis, Cancer, Rheumatoid Arthritis, stress and to some that just want to feel relaxed and have a sense of well-being.

I recently received an email from a person with Mesothelioma.  He sent me a link to a site that promotes using Reiki for their dis-ease.   Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that’s most often caused by asbestos exposure.

In general, the survival rate after being diagnosed is about 18 months. Many patients have chosen to move toward a more healthy lifestyle; exercise, diet and stress free living.

Reiki is currently being used in over 800 hospitals in the country including Duke University, NY Presbyterian, Childrens Hospital in Boston and many more.  Dr. Oz brought this modality to the forefront during the late 90’s using this for his heart patients. The results were amazing; less down time, less pain, less blood loss, and less time in the hospital.

He has been using this ever since.

There is enough evidence from research and from patient reports of experiences with Reiki that hospitals are beginning to offer this complementary service at hospitals.  According to the American Hospital Assoc.,

Reiki is #2 after Massage Thereapy and Music for an Alternative modality. Reiki practitioners may be able to help you feel better and cope better with having Mesothelioma as well as other medical conditions.

With the right practitioner, you will enjoy a better quality of life.
